Opening of the Library of Things
The Library of Things project will open in Radlje ob Dravi on Friday, 27. 10. 2023, at 13 o'clock. Through the Library of Things, EUDOM, d.o.o., so.p., together with its partner ZEOS, d.o.o. and the LIFE project Spodbujamo e-krožno, aims to support the reuse and borrowing of existing materials and products. We aim to extend product lifespans and reduce waste. Our activity creates added value in the field of sustainable energy sources. The Library of Things lets you borrow products needed only occasionally as well as items for everyday use. Available products include a plate compactor, dehumidifier, cordless grinder, cordless drill and cordless saw … Register at https://izposoja-stvari.eudom.si/, reserve an item and borrow it for a set period in return for a small contribution.

Why the Library of Things
Many products are used only rarely and accumulate in our homes. Consider how many things lie unused in drawers, storage rooms and basements. Take stock and be honest about how many times a year you actually use them, if at all. We often buy products on impulse without considering whether we will really need them. Our efforts focus on sharing, reusing, repairing, refurbishing and recycling existing materials and products for as long as possible. They extend product lifespans and reduce waste. The project includes activities in the field of sustainable energy sources, creating added value.
Purpose of the Project
By introducing a new business model and using advanced information and communication technologies, we pursue the project's core objectives: • expand the reuse of items through borrowing and purchasing, including household equipment, games, IT equipment, children's products and leisure products, • expand the borrowing and exchange of occasionally used goods, including tools for construction, home maintenance and gardening. The initial target area for borrowing is the Upper Drava Valley. It will be expanded to the rest of the Koroška and Savinja regions, where our employees' daily travel can support transfers between collection points.

About the partners
EUDOM, družba za energetsko svetovanje, d.o.o., a social enterprise, was founded in 2014 as an energy-management start-up. It primarily provides services to companies, public institutions and municipalities requiring assistance with building construction and renovation. It is also registered as a social enterprise active in supporting building energy-renovation measures and the introduction of renewable energy sources in the public sector; preparing and implementing nature conservation, environmental protection and sustainable-development projects; involving stakeholders in the preparation of development documents and policies; and preparing implementation documents at local and national level. ZEOS, d.o.o. was established in response to Directive 2002/96/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27. 1. 2003 on waste electrical and electronic equipment, and the decision by producers, acquirers and importers of electrical and electronic equipment in Slovenia to fulfil their extended producer-responsibility obligations through a collective scheme. ZEOS, d.o.o. is a non-profit organisation that ensures cost-effective compliance with legal obligations on behalf of members of collective schemes for e-waste, waste batteries, waste industrial batteries and waste grave candles. It runs numerous awareness-raising activities, including through major projects. The current LIFE project Spodbujamo e-krožno (LIFE18 GIE/SI/000008) raises awareness among target groups and stakeholders about individual elements of the circular economy. The project changes how consumers handle still-working appliances through awareness activities, appropriate infrastructure and legislative proposals. Download the official invitation here.
